Why this week is unlike any other

Davos week is arguably the single most concentrated week in global private aviation. Recent reporting puts private jet movements into the region at 1,000-1,500 aircraft during the forum, with one 2026 analysis finding jet traffic had roughly tripled since 2023 despite attendee numbers staying broadly flat. Over 1,000 helicopter movements alone have been recorded during the five-day period, as attendees transfer from surrounding airports up into the mountains.

The practical result: landing slots and parking at every airport within reach of Davos become severely constrained, operators apply significant premiums, and aircraft need to be secured well in advance — this is not an event to book at short notice.

Getting to Davos itself

Davos has no airport of its own. Most attendees fly into Zurich and complete the journey by road (around two hours, longer in forum-week traffic) or by helicopter transfer to the Stilli helipad, which takes roughly 30 minutes but carries a significant premium and very limited capacity during the event. Samedan Airport, closer to Davos but at high altitude and more weather-exposed, is a secondary option for smaller aircraft.
